Volkswagen apparently decides to end the Touareg and the ID.5 soon
For Volkswagen's SUV flagship, it is probably over. According to media reports, VW will discontinue the Touareg next year, and the VW ID.5 is also expected to be caught in 2027.
According to a report by Autocar, Volkswagen will discontinue two of the models in its range in the near future. Among them is the SUV flagship Touareg, which is to be discontinued at the end of the year. After 24 years, this is to put an end to the last remnant of VW's attempt to establish itself in the premium segment.

End for the VW Touareg after 24 years
When it was introduced in 2002, the VW Touareg was originally intended to establish the Wolfsburg-based company as a premium brand with the VW Phaeton. The current VW is now drawing a line under this for the time being. According to insiders, Volkswagen plans to end Touareg production in 2026 and will not replace the largest SUV in its range. This will make the Tayron the largest SUV from Wolfsburg from 2026.
End for the VW ID.5

According to Autocar, the service life of the VW ID.5 will be much shorter. The electric SUV coupé was only introduced in 2021, but has not yet been able to convince with large sales figures. The VW ID.4 as a more practical electric SUV from Wolfsburg has largely outstripped its brother model, so the ID.5 will probably be removed from the model range as early as 2027.
